The Columbus Symphony is proud of the important milestones we have reached, and the musical impact made together. We differentiated ourselves from other American orchestras by doubling down on our commitment to serving the community and maintaining all full-time musicians and staff at full employment through the COVID-19 pandemic. Music’s transformative power reinvigorated our community and lifted our spirits when we needed it the most, through remote celebrations and socially distanced programs. We broadcast the Holiday Spectacular across multiple TV networks for the first time, thanked our frontline workers and military veterans through a free Patriotic Pops concert, reached a remarkable 66,000 children through expanded music education opportunities, and reimagined our approach to providing artistic excellence in new concert formats. We have truly witnessed the power of community over the past year that underscores our mission to build and inspire a strong community through music. In this spirit, the Columbus Symphony launched We Are Here for You , an innovative, three-year initiative centered on meaningful service to the central Ohio community. Our deepened commitment and broadened reach elevate and reflect our region’s growth, vitality, and diversity, making cultural opportunities accessible to all. Our dedication to working towards a brighter future for everyone in central Ohio is made possible through the passion and generosity of our many supporters, patrons, and volunteers like you. As you look back on the inspiring moments from the past year, we thank you for being a member of our Columbus Symphony family. Columbus City Council President Shannon Hardin has called on all residents to create a more just Columbus. We believe in our responsibility as an organization and as individuals to be a part of this process. We stand ready to listen, learn, and take action to better serve every child and every adult in our community. We stand ready to be a part of the healing during this time.
